i'm finally done with gu family book this morning and honestly speaking, it has, to be really honest, ruined my morning. i actually expected more of the ending because the drama actually has a good and interesting storyline. however, for this episode, it seems like it has been split into three DIFFERENT parts. the front , middle and end makes NO SENSE, completely different. the first one was really beautiful, the middle was more of a cute part, the ending, about reincarnation.

wolryung and seohwa's love story made sense and it's really beautiful. kudos to the person who chose jinhyuk & yeonhee to act in this drama!
wolryung is a spirit guardian of Jiri mountain and he meets seohwa, falls in love with her at first sight. he intends to be a human so as to grow old and die with her. in order to be one, he has to find gu family book. there are a few rules you have to follow for 100 days in order for that magical book to appear, if any humans finds out your identity, you will turn into a 1000year demon. to protect seohwa, wolryung reluctantly turned into his true self. seohwa finds out and called master dam , who has the special ability to kill spirits and brought him to wolryung. he killed wolryung and he disappeared in tears.
my summary honestly sucks , you should go watch it yourself.
THE ENDING.
HERE GOES MY RANT.
[SPOILER] yeowool's death makes no sense at all. i mean, seohwa's death made sense because she wanted to repay wolryung and it was only right that she kill herself so that wolryung does not need to be a demon anymore. it gave a sense of satisfactory. but for yeowool's case, it is ridiculous. isn't it a fantasy drama? i thought she would come to life again or something magical. BUT SHE REALLY DIED. i really thought she was going to come back to life because it is a FANTASY drama but she didn't. she just died like that. so i'm basically like wth lololl. the drama ends with kangchi being alive after 422 years and him meeting reincarnated same characters. it felt like a different drama. oh well.
honestly, here was what i was expecting:
yeowool dies and kangchi goes on a hunt for the gu family book. the monk tells him that the gu family book can also help to revive yeowool and wooooo he goes on a hunt to find it. kangchi finds it and becomes a human along with yeowool. they lived happily ever after. after which it shows them dying together, OLD.
i don't understand why the drama is called gu family book if it's not going to be shown. i was looking forward to seeing it but nothing. yeowool dies and kangchi didn't have to find the gu family book anymore. i'm upset boohoo. so what's the point of the title gu family book? i would prefer something like A gumiho's love story. or something. LOL i lack of creativity. if you don't intend to show us the gu family book , dont use it alrighty. i hope there is a season 2 to continue this if not it honestly seems ridiculous. beeps. that's my long rant.
to conclude,
gu family book is a beautiful fantasy drama however the ending lacks of satisfactory. a season 2 would be good because i thought the drama had more to tell. it has a perfect storyline, if only the ending was good.
