Time Slip - Dr Jin

About: Jin Hyuk (Song Seung-hun) is a gifted neurosurgeon who was born into a family of doctors. His success rate in surgery hovers at 100%, with his ability to quickly analyze any situation and extremely steady hands. Due to his personal pursuit of perfection, he has a cold attitude and lacks compassion.[5] He is planning to give his girlfriend Yoo Mi-na (Park Min-young) a ring as a gift from their mother when after an argument, Mi-na gets into an car accident and goes into a coma.
After surgically removing a foetus-shaped tumor from a patient's brain, a mysterious power causes Jin Hyuk to travel 150 years back in time to the year 1860 during the Joseon Dynasty, when medical technology was still in its infant stages. He begins treating people of the era, but the lack of necessary implements and rudimentary medical knowledge of the period forces him to develop medical devices and medicine by himself, and seek new ways to aid the sick. He meets young noblewoman Young-rae (who looks like Mi-na), who is betrothed to her childhood friend Kim Kyung-tak (Kim Jaejoong) but is not in love with him. Through this challenging process and with the help of Young-rae and Lee Ha-eung (Lee Beom-soo), Jin Hyuk becomes a true doctor. But his actions start interfering with history and Jin Hyuk is faced with hard choices. Via Wikipedia

i've heard so much bad and good comments on this drama "time slip - dr jin" and of course, it's a must to watch it! i've finished this drama and i must say, i liked it. however, the storyline and drama was confusing and there are some things you have to figure it out yourself. the producers actually planned on extending this drama as they find that this drama has more to tell but however, it was cancelled due to low ratings.

characters:

my favourite character for this drama would be jaejoong, acting as kyungtak. i'm really glad that he was chosen for kyungtak. other than being extremely gorgeous and flawless, he suits really well in this drama. kyungtak is someone who hardens his heart & he does all the bad things however, he never forgets how to repay others and he is really nice at heart. jaejoong has this sexy and bad boy look however, he also gives off an innocent look so i think he suits this character perfectly.

seungheon is the main lead in this drama and i must say, i really enjoyed his character as dr jin. dr jin is a hardworking and smart person so seungheon fits in his character. can you imagine if gwangsoo instead is acting as dr jin? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ anyway, dr jin is a really nice guy in this drama and i really admire him a lot. even if the whole world tries to stop him and get him to give up, he will continue hoping and trying till it works and prove everyone wrong. also, he is willing to sacrifice himself for others. i really like him a lot and have definitely learnt a lot from him in this drama! great acting, seungheon!

i don't really understand why minyoung was chosen to act as the role of youngrae. i do understand she has this cute and innocent look but she doesn't really fits into this character. youngrae is more of a strong yet innocent character. she is also pretty stubborn and i thought the person who could act this role better would be lee minjung.

other than being cute and pretty, minjung gives off an innocent look with her gorgeous eyes. she also has this pretty stubborn look and will definitely fit this role. however, i find that she doesn't really fits with seungheon. but i think with her, this drama would be better. i'm not saying that minyoung's acting skills are not good but minyoung is more of a cuter kind. seeing her being stubborn is a little. well, just my opinion. minyoung is also someone of a more immature look and someone helping dr jin save lives would be someone of a more matured look.

youngrae's handsome brother; beside jaejoong.

this is chunhong! i actually shipped youngrae's brother with her. so disappointed at the fact that [SPOILER ALERT], chunhong dies in the end. ugh, disappointing.

conclusion:
is it just me at the fact that i find the story line dumb? the producers should continue with the extended episodes even though the rating is low as there are people like me who really continued watching till the end and wasted their time only to be confused until the very end or at the very least, give us a detailed explanation on what is going on. why did jaejoong die when he could have moved on? why was dr jin escaping in the first part of the first episode? who was chasing him and why? so many unanswered questions. waste of such amazing actors and actresses. SUPER UNSATISFIED.
 anyway,
6.5/10; the story has more to tell than just this, ridiculous and confusing storyline that leads to so many doubts and curiousity without being answered. however, the first few episodes was really good, captured my heart and was super addicting!
